Get Spirit = Get Holy
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

I love this verse. But almost as much as I love what it says, I love what it does not say. It does not say, that if we do not fulfill the lust of the flesh, then we will be walking in the Spirit. It just doesn't work like that. That is not a kingdom principle. Flesh-less, does not ensure Spirit-full. However, Spirit-full enables flesh-less.

"God can't fill a dirty vessel" Oh really? Well, I have news for you. God has no other type of vessel to fill. If we could get Holy on our own, then we would not need the Holy Spirit.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

If we keep the commandments, then we have the love of God, right? Wrong. But if we love God, then we will keep the commandments!

You can live a holy life and not love God.
But you can't love God and not be holy.

We can preach about sin from now till doomsday. Being sinless is the fruit of knowing God and not the root. Big difference.

Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

Wrath, smath....that's the wrong path. It is the goodness of God that leads a man to repentance!

The New Testament formula is:
Get Spirit = Get Holy

It's not Get Holy = Get Spirit
